From first pick up until finally drop off at the Ivalo airport the Wilderness Hotel Inari took exception care of all our needs, hopes, and dreams. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and were immediately encouraged to enjoy the buffet before the hassle of checking in. This made a strong first impression on us, our comfort was their top priority. This impression would continue to be fortified each day in different small ways that made our trip beyond our expectations.
Each item of the buffet was very well prepared and the variety allowed us to experience local flavors as well as classic dishes known around the world. I personally started with the soup of the day and freshly made bread before sampling the multiple protein and vegetarian options. The desserts looked wonderful and varied from day to day, however I left my sweet tooth at home.
We stayed in a chalet and an aurora cabin a found both very nice, however, the chalet was our very favorite due to increased privacy, space, and of course, the sauna. The beds were very comfortable and the floors warm (very comforting after adventuring out in the cold!)
We failed to bring enough cold weather clothing, which was no problem because we were provided quality boots, gloves, and snow suits. These were essential to our ability to enjoy the activities throughout our time. We picked a new saying, “there is no bad weather, only bad clothing” and the Wilderness Hotel Inari helped us appreciate this wisdom.
We enjoyed several of the many adventures offered including some Aurora hunting expeditions, ice fishing, and the husky safari. All our guides were kind, helpful, and focused on our enjoyment. We had great success in viewing the Aurora activity and we think our photo’s came out amazing (only using our phones!)
Without a doubt, this trip exceeded our hopes and for a price that felt very fair for the service and comfort.

The breakfast was phenomenal. The beauty of the area sets this in an excellent location even though it's out of the way.

Very nice atmosphere, and special to stay in vicinity to all those sledding dogs. We also had some reindeer passing the property during our stay. The huts are very cozy. Staff/the owner very nice to communicate with. The sauna option with the icey river water next by is really good.
On average, 3-star hotels in Inari cost $136 per night, and 4-star hotels in Inari are $239 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Inari can be found for $220 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
We went on a snowmobiling trip and a dog sledding trip.
We went on a snowmobiling trip and a dog sledding trip. We liked both but really enjoyed the dog sledding more. The cabins on the lake at night, when the northern lights came out, were perfect. Yes it was cold but we could go in an out of the cabins and take pictures as the northern lights waxed and waned. Truly a fabulous adventure that cannot be replicated at a hotel.

Pretty little town, beautiful nature, very few people in the streets. Northern lights!!
Not many places to eat or to go out to, but it wasn't a problem for us. There's also a big museum and a cultural center there, hotels, a souvenir shop and supermarkets, and generally many things specially for the tourists. There is apparently no public bus going between Inari and the Ivalo airport (only Inari and the Ivalo town), but it's possible to book a shuttle bus.

We stayed at Hotel Inari.
We stayed at Hotel Inari. View over huge lake from hotelroom and restaurant - and you can walk by foot or snowshoes or skis on the lake or ride snow mobile. Mini villlage, totally quiet, yet supermarket just across the road and tours in the area starting next door without any disturbance. Nice room, good breakfast though a bit crowded for Covid conditions at least at rush time (9 am) and probably winter holiday in Finland. Much much better to go to Inari than to Ivalo. Very friendly and helpful people, and many wonderful tours available.

Kind of remote town middle of nowhere, next to lake Inari.
Kind of remote town middle of nowhere, next to lake Inari. Not much to do if you'd like to downhill skiing or party but if one likes nature, calmness and clean, healthy atmosphere, then Inari is beautiful place. Especially during winter months. Dogsled rides, cross country skiing or such.

It was one of my best accommodations thrue the trip to the nordkapp.
The location is directly on the lake, close to the village of Inari and on the gate to Lemmenjoki nationalpark.
The house was cordially a former sami-school, now renovated as a hotel. An electric sauna in the house, as well as a wood heated sauna on the lake are available, as well as bikes, kajaks and organised icefishing and snowmobile trips.
Breakfast is delicious and even the dinner perfect, self made by the host and containing local food as reindeer and fish.
The location was perfect! In the forest and in front of a beautiful lake. Private beach. We were alone, without neighbours and had our own cottage. There is also a place for barbecue. Dogs welcome, and our dogs were very happy there.
There is a dry toilet by the cottage, and a normal toilet further away where you have shared showers and even a sauna.
The Holiday Village Inari is ideally located, close to the shops, pubs and tourism office, about a 5-minutes walk. The cottages are warm, comfortable, and very well equipped. The staff is amazing, always ready to help and answer any questions. And it's a great spot for Northern Lights hunting!
Beautiful hotel in the middle of a winter wonderland. Staff were attentive and welcoming, allowed us to store our bags and helped arrange a taxi. Restaurant and bar were both stunning and dinner was incredible. Their buffet breakfast was fantastic, so many options.
The location is great, you can get all things around and they provide different daily necessities in the house. It is very clear and tidy, you can feel it like home. Thanks for the great memory to us in Inari, this is the beat place we have had in finland.
Esko was a great host. There is a really nice, comfy and cozy common area, great finish sauna. We had a basic ski lesson from Esko, and he tought us a lot about the area and Finland in general. Sleeping ia cabine in the lake is very special experience.
Easy check in, location very secluded and opposite a lake, owner has prepared tons of facilities that are ready available to use including camp fires and snow sledding if one is interested. Sauna was amazing. Would visit again if travelling to Inari.
perfect location on the shores of Lake Inari, allows broad unobstructed view of aurora if you are lucky enough to see it. I chose over Sariselka, just 30 miles south which could make all the difference in your chances of seeing aurora.
Restaurant had a good selection of tasty dishes with a great view over Lake Inari. Service was good and the hotel succeeded in attending to our specific wishes. Location is ideal. I certainly recommend this hotel for a stay in Inari.
The owner Satu is a very lovely host.
The location of the hotel is perfect, it's very close to literally everything.
The room was clean, the beds comfortable.
If I come to Inari a second time, I will definitely stay here again.
Experience of sleeping on the lake was amazing, but staff made this trip even more excellent. Everyone was so helpful, welcoming, and had fun stories or tips to tell. Would highly recommend staying here for a unique experience!
The cabin is in the middle of the woods which is beautiful. The location is perfect to walk on the forest or on the lake to chase northern lights. The facilities are good and the accommodation is comfy.
Proximity to Inari Lake and town centre. Good for Northern lights watching and photography. Most importantly, food was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
